and change doesn't always feel good for us.
kinda like how i felt when i saw a message on my google reader this morning that said as of July 1 there will no longer be a google reader. huh???
i clicked through to read the entire message...
ai yi yi. must everything change? don't they know a good thing when they have it? :-)
google reader has been my go-to place to catch up on all of my favorite blogs. now i'm faced with having to find a new feed reader. at first search, i found a great site called feedly. any of you familiar? the layout is going to take some getting used to, but that's how it always is when something is new and uncomfortable. kinda like when facebook changes their layout.
any other feed reader suggestions you can share?
in any event, wherever i end up with a reader, i'll be sure to add all of my favorite blogs again. and i hope that if you've been reading along with me on your own google reader, that you'll find a way to follow me once again. i'll miss you if you go :-)

I heard the same news, and had the same reaction! Today I signed up for "Bloglovin" all of my favourites imported quickly and easily from google reader. It seems quite user friendly:)

I am devastated! Love Google reader! I will be interested to follow the comments here to see what people are moving to.
ReplyDeleteI'm so bummed about Google Reader going away! I've only been using it for about a year, but what a headache it's gonna be to change. I don't even know what reader to use. I tried Feedly and a few others when I first started using a reader but Google was my fav. I guess a little "spring cleaning and organization" is in order for our reader move, eh?
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy to use. Now everyone is going to scatter in the wind and we'll need three hundred new blog readers just to make sure we don't lose track of any of our favourite blogs. At least that's what I'm assuming, I haven't even had a proper look yet, I'm still in denial that I'm about to lose my Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read the message, my mouth hung open for a moment. It took time to absorb that the nearing 100 sites I subscribe to via reader would have to change format. Reader has been absolute essential in keeping my mind fed with new and interesting ideas for a fraction of the time spent- so efficient! I can spend only a half hour (timed) per evening on blogs alone and feel totally satisfied and even comment with this tool. I looked to my husband and said "I am absolutely freaking out" and then googled it. Headline- "Google Reader is Closing Down and People Are Absolutely Freaking Out" The question now is Feedly or Pulse? I'm reluctant to either but desperate for something. =(
ReplyDeleteGreat tips. I pretty much do the same thing and it's helps so much with the daily flow of things and staying organized. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love Google Reader, but I don't want to miss any of my blogs. So, I signed up for BlogLovin.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll share what you end up using. I'm very technically challenged and hope to find something easy to use as well as able to read all my fav blogs in one place.
ReplyDeleteBloglovin' is the best!
ReplyDeleteI have been using Blog lovin and I LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is where I follow you :) I forgot to tell you that! You are the bestest in organization and I don't miss a post!!!! Hugs
